Western Australian Consolidated Acts Western Australian Consolidated Acts (1) The first
Chancellor of the Council under this Act shall be appointed by the
Governor and the term of his appointment shall be for such period not
exceeding 3 years as is specified in his instrument of appointment.
(2) Until an elective
office on the Council is filled for the first time under this Act by the
election of a person in the prescribed manner that office shall be filled by a
person who has the prescribed qualification for holding that office, and who
is appointed by the Minister.
(3) In
subsection (2) elective office means an office of member referred to in
section 9(1)(c), (d), (e), or (f).
