Western Australian Consolidated Acts (1) Any person who
carelessly or accidentally damages any electric works belonging to or under
the control of a supply authority shall forfeit and pay to the supply
authority by way of satisfaction for the damage done a sum (not exceeding
$500) to be fixed by the Coordinator on the application of the supply
authority.
(2) The amount of
compensation fixed by the Coordinator under subsection (1) shall be a
debt payable by the person concerned to the supply authority and as such shall
be recoverable by the supply authority by action in any court of competent
jurisdiction.
(3) Nothing in this
section shall affect or prejudice any other right, power or remedy which the
supply authority may have at law in respect of the interference with its
property or the damage suffered by the supply authority.
