Western Australian Consolidated Acts (1) For the purposes
of this Act a local government may establish and maintain one or more public
pounds and may appoint, under and subject to the provisions of the
Local Government Act 1995 , fit and proper persons to administer those
pounds and otherwise to carry out the objects of this Act.
(2) Where each of 2 or
more local governments desire to establish and maintain pounds or other
services required by this Act, or otherwise to co-operate in the
administration of this Act, then notwithstanding the provisions of any other
law it shall be lawful for an agreement pursuant to section 3.68 of the
Local Government Act 1995 , to be entered into and carried out for that
purpose between them.
(3) A person who is
authorised by a local government to exercise any power under this Act shall be
furnished with a certificate in the prescribed form evidencing his
appointment, and shall produce that certificate on being required so to do by
a person in respect of whom he exercises, has exercised, or is about to
exercise any such power.
