COMMUNITY PROTECTION (OFFENDER REPORTING) ACT 2004 - SECT 80C
80C . Application for change of name by or in respect of reportable offender
(1) A reportable
offender must not —
(a)
apply to the WA Registrar to register a change of his or her name under the
Registration Act; or
(b)
apply to an interstate Registrar to register a change of his or her name under
a law of another State or a Territory that is the equivalent of the
Registration Act,
without having first
obtained the written approval of the Commissioner.
Penalty: a fine of $12 000 and imprisonment for 2
years.
(2) A person must not
in respect of a reportable offender —
(a)
apply to the WA Registrar to register a change of the reportable
offender’s name under the Registration Act; or
(b)
apply to an interstate Registrar to register a change of the reportable
offender’s name under a law of another State or a Territory that is the
equivalent of the Registration Act,
without having first
obtained the written approval of the Commissioner.
Penalty: a fine of $12 000 and imprisonment for 2
years.
