COMMUNITY PROTECTION (OFFENDER REPORTING) ACT 2004 - SECT 70
70 . Supervising authority to notify Commissioner of certain events
(1) This section
applies if a reportable offender —
(a)
ceases to be in strict government custody; or
(b)
ceases to be in government custody; or
(c)
ceases to be subject to a custody order made under the Criminal Law (Mentally
Impaired Accused) Act 1996 1 Part 4; or
(d)
ceases to be subject to a community order; or
(e)
ceases to be subject to a condition of parole requiring the person to be
subject to supervision; or
(f)
ceases to be an existing licensee,
regardless of the
reason why the reportable offender was in custody, was subject to the order,
was on parole or was an existing licensee.
(2) As soon as is
practicable before or after the relevant event listed in subsection (1)
occurs, the supervising authority must give written notice of the event to the
Commissioner.
(3) The notice must
include any details prescribed by the regulations.
(4) For the purposes
of subsection (2), the Commissioner may inform a supervising authority whether
or not a person is a reportable offender.
