COMMUNITY PROTECTION (OFFENDER REPORTING) ACT 2004 - SECT 36
36 . Right to privacy and support when reporting
(1) A person making a
report under this Part at a police station or approved place —
(a) is
entitled to make the report out of the hearing of members of the public; and
(b) is
entitled to be accompanied by a support person of his or her own choosing.
(2) An authorised
person receiving the report may arrange for an interpreter to be present when
a person is making a report under this Part.
(3) An authorised
person receiving the report may allow an interpreter to be present when a
person is making a report under this Part only if the interpreter has signed
an undertaking not to disclose any information derived from the report unless
required or authorised by or under any written or other law to do so.
