COMMUNITY PROTECTION (OFFENDER REPORTING) ACT 2004 - SECT 20
20 . Attendance at hearings
(1) If the applicant
does not attend a hearing fixed under section 16, the court —
(a) if
it is satisfied the applicant was notified of the hearing — must dismiss
the application; or
(b)
otherwise, must adjourn the hearing.
(2) If the respondent
does not attend a hearing fixed under section 16 and the applicant does
attend, the court —
(a) if
it is satisfied that the respondent was served with a summons requiring the
respondent to attend the hearing — must hear the matter in the absence
of the respondent; or
(b)
otherwise, must adjourn the hearing.
(3) The registrar of a
court that adjourns a hearing must notify any party permitted to attend the
hearing who was not present when the hearing was adjourned.
