Western Australian Consolidated Acts (1) Where the fees for
the issue or renewal of a certificate of registration are paid by a cheque
which is not honoured by the financial institution on which it is drawn, the
registration is void as from the time of issue or renewal as the case may be.
(2) The person to whom
a certificate of registration is issued in the circumstances referred to in
subsection (1) shall, on demand made by or on behalf of the Director
General forthwith deliver the certificate of registration and the number plate
relating to that registration to the Director General.
(3) A person to whom a
certificate of registration is so issued shall not, after demand so
made, —
(a) fail
so to deliver the certificate of registration or the number plate; or
(b) use
or continue to use, or allow any other person the use of, the certificate of
registration or the number plate relating to that registration.
Penalty: For a first offence a fine not exceeding
$40; for any subsequent offence, a fine not exceeding $100.
