emergency assistance means —
(a)
emergency medical assistance; or
(b) any
other form of assistance to a person whose life or safety is endangered in a
situation of emergency;
good samaritan means a natural person who, acting
without expectation of payment or other consideration, comes to the aid of a
person who is apparently in need of emergency assistance;
medical qualifications means —
(a)
registered under the Medical Practitioners Act 2008 ;
(b)
licensed, registered or authorised under a written law to practise in some
field of health care; or
(c)
qualifications as an ambulance officer or other paramedic;
medically qualified good samaritan means a natural
person with medical qualifications who, acting without expectation of payment
or other consideration, gives advice by any means of communicating at a
distance, including by telephone, fax, email and radio, about the
treatment of a person who is apparently in need of emergency assistance.
