CHILDREN AND COMMUNITY SERVICES ACT 2004 - SECT 249

249 .         Review of Act

        (1)         The Minister must review the operation and effectiveness of this Act, and prepare a report based on the review —

            (a)         as soon as practicable after the 5 ^th anniversary of the day on which the Children and Community Services Amendment Act 2021 section 75 comes into operation; and

            (b)         after that, at intervals of not more than 5 years.

        (2)         Without limiting subsection (1), the first review under that subsection must address —

            (a)         recommendations 4 and 11 set out in Report 44 of the Standing Committee on Legislation of the Legislative Council; and

            (b)         the need for the continuation of section 241E(4) and (5).

        (3)         The Minister must cause the report to be laid before each House of Parliament as soon as practicable after it is prepared, but not later than 12 months after the 5 ^th anniversary or the expiry of the period of 5 years, as the case may be.
