CHILDREN AND COMMUNITY SERVICES ACT 2004 - SECT 190
190 . Child under 15 not to be employed in business etc.
(1) A person must not
employ a child under 15 years of age in a business, trade or occupation
carried on for profit.
Penalty for this subsection: a fine of $24 000.
(2) It is a defence to
a charge under subsection (1) for a person to prove that the person believed
on reasonable grounds, at the time the offence is alleged to have been
committed, that the child had reached 15 years of age.
(3) A parent of a
child under 15 years of age must not permit the child to be employed in a
business, trade or occupation carried on for profit.
Penalty for this subsection: a fine of $24 000.
