103 . Tattooing or branding
(1) A person must not
in any manner tattoo or brand any part of the body of a child who has not
reached 16 years of age.
Penalty for this subsection: a fine of $12 000 and
imprisonment for one year.
(2) A person must not
in any manner tattoo or brand any part of the body of a child who has reached
16 years of age unless the person has first obtained the written consent of a
parent of the child to tattoo or brand the child in that manner and on that
part of the child’s body.
Penalty for this subsection: a fine of $12 000 and
imprisonment for one year.
(3) This section does
not apply to tattooing or branding carried out for a medical or therapeutic
purpose.
