Western Australian Consolidated Acts The objects of this
Act are to ensure that —
(a) the
production of agricultural produce in which any agricultural chemical residue
is present in excess of the maximum residue limit is as far as possible
avoided; and
(b)
agricultural produce in which any agricultural chemical residue is present in
excess of the maximum residue limit is not used —
(i)
as, or for manufacture into, food for human consumption;
(ii)
as, or for manufacture into, food for consumption by any
animal if there is any reasonable likelihood that such consumption may
directly or indirectly cause or contribute to the presence of an agricultural
chemical residue in any agricultural produce in excess of the maximum residue
limit;
(iii)
in any other manner likely directly or indirectly to
cause or contribute to the presence of an agricultural chemical residue in any
agricultural produce in excess of the maximum residue limit.
