ABORIGINAL AFFAIRS PLANNING AUTHORITY ACT 1972 - SECT 48

48 .         Right of representation in proceedings

                Despite the Legal Profession Uniform Law (WA) section 10, any person generally or specifically authorised in writing by the Minister for that purpose may in any legal proceedings in any court to which a person of Aboriginal descent is a party, or in which a person of Aboriginal descent is indicted for or charged with any crime or offence, address the court or the jury on behalf of that person and examine and cross-examine witnesses.
