Western Australian Consolidated Acts Western Australian Consolidated Acts (1) A person who
wishes to adopt a child under this Act, in a Convention country or in an
overseas jurisdiction is to apply to the CEO to be assessed for suitability
for adoptive parenthood.
(2) An application
under subsection (1) may be made by one person, or by 2 persons jointly.
(3) An application
under subsection (1) is to be in a form that is approved by the CEO and
made at a time and in a manner prescribed by regulation.
(4) This
section does not apply to a step-parent or carer of a child who wishes to
adopt the child.
