Western Australian Consolidated Acts Western Australian Consolidated Acts (1) For the purposes
of this Act "lesser conviction" means a conviction in respect of which the
sentence imposed is not a sentence referred to in section 9 or a sentence
of life imprisonment.
(2) Notwithstanding
subsection (1), if a person who has incurred a lesser conviction that is
not spent incurs a conviction (including a conviction for an offence against
Commonwealth law or the law of another State or of a Territory) for which a
sentence referred to in section 9 or a sentence of life imprisonment is
imposed, the lesser conviction thereafter becomes a serious conviction for the
purposes of this Act.
