A Bill for
An Act to amend the Road Traffic Act 1974 and amend various other
Acts as a consequence of the enactment of the Road Traffic
(Administration) Act 2007, the Road Traffic (Authorisation to Drive)
Act 2007 and the Road Traffic (Vehicles) Act 2007, and for related
purposes.
The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:

Part 1 -- Preliminary
1. Short title
This is the Road Traffic (Consequential Provisions) Act 2007.
2. Commencement
5 This Act comes into operation as follows:
(a) sections 1 and 2 -- on the day on which this Act
receives the Royal Assent;
(b) the rest of the Act, on the day fixed under the Road
Traffic (Administration) Act 2007 section 2(b).

3. The Act amended
The amendments in this Part are to the Road Traffic Act 1974.
4. Long title amended
5 The long title is amended by deleting "consolidate and amend
the law relating to road traffic; to repeal the Traffic Act 1919"
and inserting instead --
"
make provision in relation to the driving and use of vehicles,
10 the regulation of traffic
".
5. Section 5 replaced
Section 5 is repealed and the following section is inserted
instead --

Division 2 provides for the meanings of some terms
and abbreviations in this Act.
