An Act to amend the Retail Trading Hours Act 1987.
The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:

1 1. Short title
2 This is the Retail Trading Hours Amendment (Joondalup
3 Special Trading Precinct) Act 2009.
4 2. Commencement
5 This Act comes into operation as follows --
6 (a) sections 1 and 2 -- on the day on which this Act
7 receives the Royal Assent;
8 (b) the rest of the Act -- on the day after that day.
9 3. Act amended
10 This Act amends the Retail Trading Hours Act 1987.
11 4. Section 12 amended
12 In section 12(2)(a) delete "tourism" and insert:

16 5. Section 12A amended
17 (1) In section 12A(1), (2) and (3) delete "tourism" (each
18 occurrence) and insert:

22 (2) In section 12A(4) delete the definitions of:

1 (3) In section 12A(4) insert in alphabetical order:

3 Fremantle special trading precinct means the area or
4 areas prescribed for the purposes of this definition;
5 Joondalup special trading precinct means the area or
6 areas prescribed for the purposes of this definition;
7 Perth special trading precinct means the area or areas
8 prescribed for the purposes of this definition;
9 special trading precinct means the Fremantle special
10 trading precinct, Joondalup special trading precinct or
11 Perth special trading precinct;

13 (4) After section 12A(4) insert:

15 (5) After the commencement of the Retail Trading Hours
16 Amendment (Joondalup Special Trading Precinct) Act
17 2009 section 5, every reference to the Fremantle
18 tourism precinct or the Perth tourism precinct or a
19 tourism precinct in any written law or other document
20 or instrument in existence immediately before the
21 commencement of that section is, unless the context
22 otherwise requires, to be read and have effect --
23 (a) in the case of a reference to the Fremantle
24 tourism precinct, as if it were a reference to the
25 Fremantle special trading precinct;
26 (b) in the case of a reference to the Perth tourism
27 precinct, as if it were a reference to the Perth
28 special trading precinct;

1 (c) in the case of a reference to a tourism precinct,
2 as if it were a reference to a special trading
