Amendment Bill 2002
A Bill for
An Act to amend the Regional Development Commissions Act 1993,
and for related purposes.
The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:
1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the Regional Development
5 Commissions Amendment Act 2002.

2. Commencement
This Act comes into operation on the day on which it receives
the Royal Assent.
3. The Act amended
5 The amendment in this Act is to the Regional Development
Commissions Act 1993*.

10 4. Section 24 amended, and validation
(1) After section 24(1) the following subsection is inserted --
"
(1a) Without limiting subsection (1), a commission may, for
or in connection with the performance of its functions,
15 provide financial support in the form of a grant.
".
(2) The provision by a commission, within the meaning of the
Regional Development Commissions Act 1993, of financial
support in the form of a grant before the commencement of this
20 Act is as valid, and is to be regarded as always having been as
valid, as it would have been if this Act had commenced before
the financial support was provided.
