Parks and Reserves Amendment Bill 1998
A Bill for
An Act to amend the Parks and Reserves Act 1895.
The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:
1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the Parks and Reserves Amendment
Act 1998.
5 2. Commencement
This Act comes into operation on the day on which it receives
the Royal Assent.

3. The Act amended
The amendments in this Act are to the Parks and Reserves
Act 1895*.

4. Long title amended
The long title is amended by deleting "Management of Parks
10 and Reserves vested in" and inserting instead --
" control and management of certain land reserved to ".
5. Section 2 amended
Section 2 is amended as follows:
(a) in the definition of "Board" by deleting "of Parks and
15 Reserves";
(b) by deleting the definition of "parks and reserves".
6. Section 3 amended
Section 3(1) is amended after "Act 1997" by inserting --
" or any other Act ".
20 7. Section 7A amended
(1) Section 7A(1)(a) is amended by deleting "a park or reserve" and
inserting instead --
" land committed to the Board ".

(2) Section 7A(2) is amended by deleting "a park or reserve" and
inserting instead --
" land committed to a Board ".
8. Section 8 amended
5 Section 8(1) is amended as follows:
(a) in subparagraphs (a), (b) and (c) of the 8th paragraph by
deleting "park lands and reserves" and inserting
instead --
" that land ";
10 (b) in the 17th paragraph by inserting after "sale" --
" of ";
(c) in the 18th and 19th paragraphs by deleting "in the park
lands and reserves" and inserting instead --
" on the land ".
15 9. Section 10 amended
Section 10 is amended by deleting "park or reserve" and
inserting instead --
" land committed to a Board ".
10. Section 12A amended
20 Section 12A(a) is amended by deleting "in a park or reserve"
and inserting instead --
" on land ".

11. Various references to "parks" and "reserves" amended
Each section listed in the Table to this section is amended by
deleting the words set out in the Table opposite that section in
each place where they occur and inserting instead --
