     Prisons Amendment Bill (No. 2) 1999
                               A Bill for


An Act to amend the Prisons Act 1981.



The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:

1.      Short title
        This Act may be cited as the Prisons Amendment Act (No. 2)
        1999.

     2.       Commencement
              This Act comes into operation on the day on which it receives
              the Royal Assent.
     3.       Principal Act
 5            In this Act the Prisons Act 1981* is referred to as the principal
              Act.

10   4.       Section 67 amended
              Section 67 of the principal Act is amended by inserting after
              subsection (d) the following new subsection --
              "
                      (e)   a member of either House of the State or
15                          Commonwealth Parliaments.
                                                                                  ".
