                 Amendment Bill 1998

    An Act to amend the Mutual Recognition (Western Australia)
    Act 1995.



    The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:


    1.      Short title
            This Act may be cited as the Mutual Recognition (Western
5           Australia) Amendment Act 1998.

     2.       Commencement
              This Act comes into operation on the day on which it receives
              the Royal Assent.

     3.       Section 3 amended
 5            Section 3 of the Mutual Recognition (Western Australia)
              Act 1995* is amended --
               (a) in subsection (1) in paragraph (a) of the definition of
                     "termination day"; and
               (b) in subsection (2),
10            by deleting "1999" and inserting instead --
              "   2001 ".
