        FREEDOM OF INFORMATION
          AMENDMENT BILL 1998
                             A BILL FOR



    AN ACT to amend the Freedom of Information Act 1992.


    The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:


    Short title

    1. This Act may be cited as the Freedom of Information
    Amendment Act 1998.


5   Commencement

    2. This Act comes into operation on the day on which it
    receives the Royal Assent.

        Principal Act

        3. In this Act the Freedom of Information Act 1992* is referred
        to as the principal Act.

        Schedule 1 amended

        4. Clause 5 (1) (b) of schedule 1 of the principal Act is amended
        by deleting ``reveal the'' and substituting the following --

10           ``   prejudice an                                           ''.
