 Electricity Corporations Amendment Bill 2006


                               A Bill for


An Act to amend the Electricity Corporations Act 2005 to prohibit the
Electricity Networks Corporation paying any dividend.



The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:

                           Part 1 -- Preliminary
    1.       Short title
             This Act may be cited as the Electricity Corporations
             Amendment Act 2006.

5   2.       Commencement
             This Act comes into operation on the day on which it receives the
             Royal Assent.

          Part 2 -- Amendments to Electricity Corporations
                           Act 2005
     3.        The Act amended
               The amendments in this Part are to the Electricity Corporations
 5             Act 2005.

     4.        Section 126 amended
               Section 126(1) is amended by inserting after "a" --
               "     dividend paying   ".

     5.        Section 126 amended
10             Section 126(2) is amended by inserting after "a" in the first
               place it occurs --
               "     dividend paying   ".

     6.        Section 126 amended
               Section 126(5) is amended by inserting after "a" in the first
15             place it occurs --
               "     dividend paying   ".

     7.        Section 126 amended
               Section 126(5) the following subsections are inserted --
           "
20             (6)     The Electricity Networks Corporation must not pay any
                       dividend.
               (7)     In this section --
                       "dividend paying corporation" means a corporation
                            referred to in section 4(1) except the Electricity
25                          Networks Corporation.
                                                                                  ".
