Amendment Bill 2000
A Bill for
An Act to amend the Director of Public Prosecutions Act 1991.
The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:
1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the Director of Public Prosecutions
Amendment Act 2000.

2. Section 12 amended
Section 12 of the Director of Public Prosecutions Act 1991* is
amended as follows:
(a) by inserting before "It is a function" the subsection
5 designation "(1)";
(b) by deleting "section" and inserting instead --
" subsection ";
(c) by inserting the following subsection --
"
10 (2) It is a function of the Director to take over a
prosecution for a simple offence where the complaint
has been made or sworn by a person who is, or who is
in a class of persons, prescribed by regulations.
".
