A Bill for
An Act to amend the Cross-border Justice Act 2008.
The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:

1 1. Short title
2 This is the Cross-border Justice Amendment Act 2009.
3 2. Commencement
4 This Act comes into operation as follows --
5 (a) sections 1 and 2 -- on the day on which this Act
6 receives the Royal Assent (assent day);
7 (b) the rest of the Act --
8 (i) when the Cross-border Justice Act 2008
9 section 4 comes into operation; or
10 (ii) if assent day is later than the day on which the
11 Cross-border Justice Act 2008 section 4 comes
12 into operation -- on assent day.
13 3. Act amended
14 This Act amends the Cross-border Justice Act 2008.
15 4. Section 7 amended
16 In section 7(1) in the definition of office holder delete
17 "participating" (first occurrence) and insert:

21 5. Section 8 amended
22 In section 8(2)(a) delete "2008" and insert:
