Vice-Chancellor23. Vice-Chancellor (1) The Council must appoint a person to be the Vice-Chancellor and President of the University. (2) The Vice-Chancellor and President holds office, unless he or she sooner resigns, retires or otherwise ceases to hold office, for such term and on such conditions as the Council determines and may be re-appointed. (3) Subject to this Act, the Vice-Chancellor and President is the Chief Executive Officer of the University and has such powers and duties as prescribed. (4) Unless the Statutes otherwise prescribe, the Vice-Chancellor and President may delegate any of the powers and duties of the Vice-Chancellor and President, other than this power of delegation, to any person or body of persons.
