MARINE SAFETY ACT 2010 (NO. 65 OF 2010) - SECT 156

Infringement notices

    (1)     A member of the police force or a transport safety officer who has reasonable cause to believe that a person has committed a marine infringement of a kind that is prescribed for the purposes of this Part may serve on that person an infringement notice.

    (2)     An offence referred to in subsection (1) for which an infringement notice may be served is an infringement offence within the meaning of the Infringements Act 2006 .

    (3)     For the purposes of subsection (1), an infringement notice—

        (a)     must be in the form required by section 13 of the Infringements Act 2006 ; and

        (b)     may contain any additional prescribed details.

    (4)     The infringement penalty for the purposes of this section in respect of any marine infringement is the amount prescribed in respect of that marine infringement.
