EQUAL OPPORTUNITY ACT 2010 (NO. 16 OF 2010) - SECT 162

    (1)     The Board is responsible for—

        (a)     determining the Commission's strategic direction and the general nature of activities to be undertaken by the Commission in performing its functions; and

        (b)     setting policies, priorities and strategies for the Commission in performing its functions.

    (2)     Without limiting subsection (1), the Board is responsible for the following functions in relation to investigations and public inquiries—

        (a)     deciding whether the Commission should conduct an investigation under Part 9;

        (b)     deciding whether the Commission should recommend to the Attorney-General that the Commission conduct a public inquiry under Part 9;

        (c)     deciding whether the Commission should commence a public inquiry under Part 9.

    (3)     The Board has any other functions conferred on it by or under this or any other Act.

    (4)     The Board has all the powers necessary to enable it to perform its functions.
