Victorian Numbered Acts(1) In section 25(1) of the Supreme Court Act 1986 —
(a) in paragraph (b) for "a Master" substitute "an Associate Judge";
(b) in paragraph (c), for "from the Trial Division constituted by a Master or from a Master of the County Court" substitute "an associate judge of the County Court";
(c) after paragraph (ca) insert —
"(cb) appeals by way of rehearing or otherwise from the Trial Division constituted by an Associate Judge—
(i) to the Court of Appeal; or
(ii) to the Trial Division constituted by a Judge of the Court;".
(2) After section 25(1) of the Supreme Court Act 1986 insert —
"(1A) The Rules may—
(a) confer a discretionary authority or impose a duty on the Chief Justice or a specified court official or a specified class of court official; and
(b) provide in a specified case or class of case for the exemption of proceedings or a class of proceeding from any of the provisions of the Rules, whether unconditionally or on specified conditions and either wholly or to such an extent as is specified.".
