Refunds

239. Refunds



(1) If the registration of a vehicle is cancelled, the Corporation may refund
part of the registration fees calculated in accordance with the following
formula-

where-

R is the amount of the refund (in dollars); and

A is the unexpired number of days of duration of the registration; and

B is the total number of days for which the registration was granted; and

C is the amount paid for the registration (in dollars).



(2) If there is a change in the registration of a vehicle as a result of which
a lower registration fee is payable, the Corporation must refund the
difference in fees in accordance with the following formula-

where-

R is the amount of the refund (in dollars); and

A is the unexpired number of days of duration of the registration after the
change; and

B is the total number of days for which the registration was granted; and

C is the amount of the difference in fees (in dollars).

(2A) If the registration or renewal of registration of a hybrid vehicle takes
effect on or after 1 May 2007, the Corporation must refund the difference (if
any) between the fee paid for the registration or renewal of registration and
the fee determined in accordance with regulation 236(1A).

(3) The Corporation may deduct from a refund the amount of any unpaid
administrative fees incurred in respect of the vehicle.
