Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 1999 - SECT 202

Eligible vehicles

202. Eligible vehicles



(1) A vehicle is eligible to be registered without conditions if-

   (a)  the vehicle complies with the provisions of the standards for
        registration that apply to the vehicle; and

   (b)  the requirements of the Transport Accident Act 1986 and the
        Duties Act 2000 are complied with in respect of the vehicle.



(2) Despite subregulation (1), the Corporation may refuse to register a
vehicle if it is satisfied that-

   (a)  the vehicle has been registered in another State or a Territory; and

   (b)  the registration in that State or Territory has been cancelled or
        suspended; and

   (c)  the reasons for the cancellation or suspension still exist.

(3) If the Corporation refuses to register a vehicle under subregulation (2),
it must inform the applicant for registration in writing of the applicant's
rights under Division 9 to an internal and external review of the refusal.
