Use of engine management system reading device

313C. Use of engine management system reading device

For the purposes of section 14(1A) of the Road Safety Act 1986, an engine
management system reading device is used in accordance with the regulations
if-

   (a)  it is connected to the electronic control module of a vehicle; and

   (b)  the information contained in that electronic control module relevant
        to the vehicle's operation is transferred-

   (i)  in the case of an engine management system reading device specified in
        regulation 313B(a), to a printer connected to the device; or

   (ii) in the case of an engine management system reading device specified in
        regulation 313B(b), into the device's memory.
