3.2.10. Acquisition of plant

An employer who introduces new or additional plant for use in the workplace
must have regard to the sound power level of the plant in order to ensure, so
far as is reasonably practicable, that employees will not be exposed to noise
that exceeds the noise exposure standard. Note Act compliance-section 21 (see
regulation 1.1.7).
