Section 39 of the Interpretation of Legislation Act 1984 provides that where a word or phrase is given a particular meaning in an Act or subordinate instrument, other parts of speech and grammatical forms of that word or phrase have, unless the contrary intention appears, corresponding meanings. - SECT 201

Duties on more than one person

201. Duties on more than one person

If, under these Regulations, a duty is placed on more than one person or class
of persons, the duty must be undertaken by each person or each person in that
class only in relation to those matters in respect of which the person has
management or control, whether or not any other person is also responsible for
undertaking the duty.
