The long title for the Bill for this Act was "to provide for the staging, conduct and management of the 2007 World Swimming Championships, to establish the 2007 World Swimming Championships Corporation and provide for its powers and functions, to provide for various matters in relation to commercial arrangements, including the use of logos, images and certain references and the authorisation of broadcasting, filming and certain advertising in respect of the 2007 World Swimming Championships, to amend the Borrowing and Investment Powers Act 1987 and for other purposes."
The World Swimming Championships Act 2004 was assented to on 7 December 2004 and came into operation on 16 February 2005: Government Gazette 10 February 2005 page 217.
