Obstruction

60. Obstruction



(1) A person must not-

   (a)  without lawful excuse, wilfully obstruct, hinder or resist the
        Ombudsman or any other person in the exercise of his or her powers
        under this Part; or

   (b)  without lawful excuse, refuse to or wilfully fail to comply with any
        lawful requirement of the Ombudsman or any other person under this
        Part; or

   (c)  make a statement the person knows to be false or misleading in a
        material respect to the Ombudsman or any other person in the course of
        an investigation under this Part; or

   (d)  knowingly mislead or attempt to mislead the Ombudsman or any other
        person in the course of an investigation under this Part.

Penalty: 240 penalty units or 2 years imprisonment or both.
