Whistleblowers Protection Act 2001 - SECT 26
Certain complaints under the Police Regulation Act 1958 to be investigated as public interest disclosures
26. Certain complaints under the Police Regulation Act 1958 to be investigated
as public interest disclosures
If-
(a) the Ombudsman determines that a disclosure in relation to a member of
the police force is a public interest disclosure; and
(b) the disclosure could constitute a complaint under the
Police Regulation Act 1958-
then, despite anything to the contrary in Part IVA of the
Police Regulation Act 1958 or Part 3 of the Police Integrity Act 2008, the
subject-matter of the disclosure must be investigated under this Act instead
of under Part IVA of the Police Regulation Act 1958 or Part 3 of the
Police Integrity Act 2008.
