VICTORIA POLICE ACT 2013 - SECT 25
Status of Assistant Commissioner as a police officer(1) A person who was a police officer immediately before the time his or her contract of employment as an Assistant Commissioner comes into force continues to be a police officer on and after the time the contract comes into force.
(2) A person who was not a police officer immediately before the time his or her contract of employment as an Assistant Commissioner comes into force is taken to have been appointed as a police officer at the time the contract comes into force.
