Powers of the Commission

6. Powers of the Commission



(1) Subject to subsection (2), the Commission has power to do all things
necessary or convenient to be done for, or in connection with, performing its
functions.

(2) The Commission must not, without the prior written approval of the
Attorney-General-

   (a)  acquire any property, right or privilege for a consideration of more
        than $250 000 or any higher amount prescribed for the purposes of this
        paragraph; or

   (b)  dispose of any property, right or privilege that has a value, or for a
        consideration, of more than $250 000 or any higher amount prescribed
        for the purposes of this paragraph; or

   (c)  obtain a lease over any land or premises.
