Applications for appointment

15. Applications for appointment



(1) A person may apply to the Minister for appointment as a member of the
Tribunal.

(2) The Minister may refer an application to the Chief Commissioner of Police.

(3) The Chief Commissioner of Police must inquire into and report, within 30
days, to the Minister on any matters concerned with the application that the
Minister requests.

(4) An applicant is required to consent to the referral of the application to
the Chief Commissioner of Police and the making of inquiries and reports under
subsection (3).

(5) If the applicant does not consent under subsection (4), the Minister may
refuse to consider the application.

(6) Nothing in this section prevents a person who has not applied under this
section being appointed as a member of the Tribunal.
