Objects of Act

8. Objects of Act

The objects of this Act are as follows-

   (a)  to reduce the cost to the Victorian community of compensation for
        transport accidents;

   (b)  to provide, in the most socially and economically appropriate manner,
        suitable and just compensation in respect of persons injured or who
        die as a result of transport accidents;

   (c)  to determine claims for compensation speedily and efficiently;

   (d)  to reduce the incidence of transport accidents;

   (e)  to provide suitable systems for the effective rehabilitation of
        persons injured as a result of transport accidents.
