Travel agents to be licensed

6. Travel agents to be licensed



(1) A person must not-

   (a)  carry on business as a travel agent otherwise than in accordance with
        the authority conferred on that person by a travel agent's licence; or

   (b)  carry on business as a travel agent in partnership with a person who
        is not the holder of a travel agent's licence.

Penalty: 500 penalty units or imprisonment for 12 months, or both.

(2) No action lies for the recovery of any fee, commission or other reward for
any service done or performed in the course of carrying on business as a
travel agent by a person (other than an exempted person) who does not hold a
licence.
