23. Death of licensee
(1) Where a licensee dies, a person who is, or who is named as, or who intends
to apply to become, a legal personal representative of the deceased licensee
may, within 28 days after the death or such longer period as the Authority
allows, apply to the Authority to be allowed to carry on the business as a
travel agent of the deceased licensee during-
(a) the period that commences with the date of death of the licensee and
ends 6 months later; or
(b) the period that commences with the date of death of the licensee and
ends immediately before the next succeeding anniversary of the date on
which the licence was granted-
whichever is the longer.
(2) The Authority may grant or refuse an application under subsection (1) and,
where the Authority grants the application, may impose such conditions as it
thinks fit, being conditions subject to which the business to which the
application relates may be carried on.
(3) A personal representative authorized under this section to carry on the
business of a deceased licensee is, subject to this Act and any conditions
imposed under subsection (2), deemed, while so authorized, to be the holder of
the licence of the deceased licensee.
