Safety Director to have regard to certain objectives

9V. Safety Director to have regard to certain objectives

In performing or exercising his or her functions or powers, the Director,
Public Transport Safety must have regard to-

   (a)  ensuring that the public transport system achieves the highest safety
        standards reasonably practicable; and

   (b)  ensuring that societal costs are assessed and considered such that the
        benefits resulting from performing or exercising a function or power
        are proportionate to those costs; and

   (c)  the objects of the Rail Safety Act 2006 set out in section 11 of that
        Act.
