Information-sharing between the Secretary and the Victorian Registrar

70I. Information-sharing between the Secretary and the Victorian Registrar



(1) Despite any law to the contrary-

   (a)  the Secretary or the Chief Commissioner of Police may notify the
        Victorian Registrar of the name (including any other name by which a
        registrable offender is or has previously been known), date of birth
        and residential address or addresses of the registrable offender; and

   (b)  if the Secretary or the Chief Commissioner of Police has given
        notification under paragraph (a) in respect of a registrable offender,
        the Secretary or the Chief Commissioner must notify the Victorian
        Registrar as soon as practicable after the registrable offender ceases
        to be a registrable offender.

(2) Nothing in this section affects the operation of the Charter of Human
Rights and Responsibilities.
