5. Other reference provisions



(1) For the purposes of this Act, offences arise from the same incident only
if they are committed within a single period of 24 hours and are committed
against the same person.

(2) For the purposes of this Act and without limiting the meaning of
disability given by section 3, a person has a disability if he or she is a
forensic patient or a forensic resident within the meaning of the Crimes
(Mental Impairment and Unfitness to be Tried) Act 1997.

(3) A reference to doing a thing "in person" in this Act is a reference to
doing the thing by personal attendance at a place-it is not sufficient to
attend the place by telephone or by any other electronic means.
