Offences

84. Offences



(1) A person must not-

   (a)  fail to comply with a lawful direction of a special investigator;

   (b)  refuse or fail to produce documents or answer questions sought or
        asked by a special investigator;

   (c)  hinder or obstruct a special investigator;

   (d)  destroy documents or any other thing relevant to an investigation.

Penalty: 5 penalty units.

(2) A person is not excused from answering a question put by a special
investigator on the ground that the answer might incriminate the person but,
if the person claims, before answering the question, that the answer might
tend to incriminate the person, the answer is not admissible in evidence
against the person in criminal proceedings, other than proceedings under this
section or other proceedings in respect of the falsity of the answer.
