Seizure of firearms

40. Seizure of firearms

If a person fails to comply with a direction given to the person under section
35, or a police officer searches premises under section 36, the police
officer-

   (a)  must seize any firearm or firearms authority the officer is aware is
        in the person's possession; and

   (b)  may seize ammunition the officer is aware is in the person's
        possession.
