26K. Entry without consent or warrant
(1) For the purpose of monitoring compliance with this Act or the regulations,
an inspector may (with the assistance, if necessary, of another inspector or a
member of the police force) do all or any of the following-
(a) enter and search any premises at which an endorsed pawnbroker is
carrying on business at any time that the premises are open for
business or between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.;
(b) seize or secure against interference anything that the Director or
inspector believes on reasonable grounds to be connected with a
contravention of this Act or the regulations that is found on or in
the premises;
(c) inspect and make copies of or take extracts from any document kept on
the premises.
(2) An inspector must not enter or search any premises under subsection (1)
unless, before that entry, the inspector has produced his or her identity card
for inspection by the occupier of the premises.
